Day 1 is a personal day tracking app designed to help you mark meaningful moments throughout your year. We believe your personal data should stay personal, which is why we built Day 1 with privacy at its core.
The Short Version
• Your data stays on your device and in your private iCloud account
• We do not collect, store, or have access to any of your information
• There are no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising
• You are in complete control of your data
What Information Day 1 Stores
Day 1 stores the following information to provide its features.
Membership Card Details
• Your name (optional, for personalizing your membership card)
• Your intention or goal (optional, a note you write for yourself)
• Your signature (a drawing you create within the app)
Day Tracking Data
• Dates you mark as tracked
• Events you create, including emoji, event name, and date
• Notes you attach to specific days
App Preferences
• Your chosen theme settings
• Shape and display preferences
• Widget configurations
All of this information is created by you and stored for your personal use.
How Your Data Is Stored
Day 1 stores your data in two places, both under your control.
On Your Device
Your data is stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. This data remains on your device unless you choose to use iCloud sync.
In Your Private iCloud Account
If you have iCloud enabled, Day 1 uses Apple’s CloudKit to sync your data across your devices. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account, not on any servers we operate. We cannot access your iCloud data. Only you can, using your Apple ID.
What We Do Not Do
No Data Collection
We have no servers that receive information from Day 1. Your data never leaves your device or your iCloud account.
No Analytics or Tracking
Day 1 does not include analytics services, crash reporting tools, or tracking code. We do not know how you use the app, which features you prefer, or how often you open it.
No Advertising
There are no ads in Day 1, and we do not share any information with advertisers.
No Account Creation
You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or sign up for anything. Day 1 works with your existing iCloud account in the background.
No Data Selling
We do not have access to your data, and we do not sell user information.
Data Sharing
Day 1 does not share your data with anyone.
Your information is not sent to:
• Our servers
• Third-party services
• Advertising networks
• Analytics providers
• Any other external parties
The only data transfer that occurs is between your devices through your own iCloud account, which is managed entirely by Apple under their privacy policy.
Your Rights and Control
Access Your Data
All your data is visible within the app. You can view your tracked days, events, notes, and membership card details at any time.
Delete Your Data
You can delete individual events or notes within the app. To remove all app data completely, use the Reset App feature in Settings. This erases all locally stored data.
To remove data from iCloud, you can manage your iCloud storage through your device’s Settings app under your Apple ID.
Export Your Data
Your data syncs through iCloud and is accessible on any device signed into your Apple ID where Day 1 is installed.
Children’s Privacy
Day 1 does not knowingly collect personal information. Since we do not collect data from any users, we do not collect data from children. The app is safe for users of all ages.
Widgets
Day 1 offers widgets that display your tracking information on your home screen. Widget data is stored locally on your device and processed entirely on-device. No widget data is transmitted externally.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Since Day 1 does not collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly of changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
